Our silly little dog

Yes our dog has issues! But we love him anyway.
My dad was watering his garden the other day and layed the hose down to go turn the water off.... the dog went crazy. I missed most of it, because like always I didn't have my camera. But, I got a short video below. When Maryssa realized he liked playing in the water she decided it would be great fun to carry him through the sprinkler. (I'm not sure he enjoyed this as much as attacking the water, lol).

A morning at the park

We love going to the park, especially with good friends. We almost didn't go this particular morning because I had a million things to do before our trip to AR, but I'm glad I changed my mind. I can get wrapped up in what needs to be done and forget about slowing down to just have fun. When mom's cancer came back my motto soon became... you only live life once. So, on this particular day after telling my friends no I happened to glance at a picture of my beautiful mom wearing a silly curly wig. This picture reminded me of something my mom wrote in a book.... live everyday as if there is no tomorrow. She wrote this approx. 6 months before she died. So we packed up and off we went to the park and I'm glad we did. And, you know what.... the house didn't fall apart while we were gone and the laundry was still there waiting. In the end it was worth it to recieve the big hug and kiss from Maryssa and hear her tell me "thanks mommy for taking me to the park I had a lot of fun"

I think I can.... I think I can....

Maryssa loves the monkey bars, but has never tried to do them all by herself. Let's just say she not the bravest soul in the world. But, on this day she decided she'd try the bars all by herself. So she climbed the ladder and contemplated her decision. After much thought she backed away and decided she'd try it another day. I'm proud of her for even thinking about it!

Hannibal Cavemen

Hannibal got a new baseball team - The Hannibal Cavemen. We've been to 3 games this year. So they're not the best team in the world but it's still fun to go. Each night they have the crowd sing Take Me Out to the Ballgame. Watch the video of Maryssa singing the song below.

New Golf Clubs

Maryssa got big girl golf clubs this year. I don't know who was more excited Maryssa or Bryan! (Maryssa says that daddy was more excited..... he he he =) )

Summer is finally here!!!! Maryssa has been asking for several months... "when is it going to be warm enough to go swimming?" Well the pool has finally opened and even though it wasn't really warm enough we went swimming. The girls has a ball and shivered the whole time.

Girl Talk

We spent a Sunday afternoon with a precious family from our church. Maryssa and her Grandaughter Olivia are really good friends. I just love the picture below. We found them on the bed talking and laughing together, telling stories and being sweet girls.

Tennis Camp

We signed Maryssa up for a week of Tennis camp. She loved it. I really wish they had something in the area for her age to particpate in regulary.She was actually pretty good at it. I was impressed with her hand eye cordination. We are already looking forward to next year.

Kindergarten graduation

I can't believe Maryssa has already finished Kindergarten. As many of you know we pulled Maryssa out of the public school the 1st of November. We decided that for our family and our daughter this was what was best. God has truely blessed our obedience. Maryssa loves being homeschooled and I love teaching her. We participate in a local homeschool group where she goes to art class and music class.

Silver Dollar City

Bryan got to go to Silver Dollar City with me and Maryssa the end of May. Maryssa was so excited that he was coming. She had the whole 3 days planned out... what we would see and do.

Spring Children's Musical

Simon Says was the name of the musical. I think it was one of the best musicals we've done. Certainly not becasue of the director (me), but because the musical was written so well. It had fun music and was scripture based. Maryssa loves being in KIDZ choir... singing is one of her favorite things to do. She says when she's older she would like to sing songs in church and write music about God. Maryssa sang in her first trio, and she loved every minute of it. We were so proud of her!

Safari

We took a fieldtrip to the Safari in Gentry. We went with our good friend the Disheroons. This has became an annual event for us. We had a great time!


We finally got to meet baby Titus. Such a cutie!

Snack time

This was probably everyones favorite part of the trip. We got to hold and pet a 2 year old monkey.

We went to Pizza hut for dinner after the Safari.
