About a year ago we ventured into the realm of realestate. We bought a little house with the intentions of fixing it up and then selling it. We'll we've (and by we I mean mostly Bryan) have finished the house and sold it last Thursday, Feb. 14. We don't have any before pictures but, take a look at the after! Let me tell you a little about how the adventure started. But, before I start the story let me say that Bryan continues to amaze me! He has vision, determination and so many different skills it's scary! A little over a year ago Bryan was driving down a little side street in Hannibal when he spotted this little house. Upon seeing the house he noticed that of all the houses in the neighborhood it was the only one that had not been kept up. He also noticed that it appeared that it was empty. So, being the curious man that he is. He stopped his jeep, walked up to house, peeked in the window and found that he was correct. The house was empty. He called our realestate agent to see if she could find out who owned the house. Upon some research she found out that the neighbor to the left of the house owned it. So, Bryan went to the neighbors house, knocked on the door and asked the man if he would be interested in selling the house. Well the man told him no. But, do you think that stopped my very determined husband. No, of course not! He gave the man a few days to ponder the idea and then went back. And as you can see he had changed his mind. See a little determination does pay off!

Bryan also built the front porch.
This is the back of the house. There is a small deck
but, you can't see it. The french doors were not
originally there. Bryan took out a large picture window
and added the french doors.
Living room. Ripped up the carpet and refinished
the wood floors. Took a wall down where the banister
rail now stands. This really helped open up the whole
room. All new trim and doors throughout the house.
Kitchen. Bryan took down the walls that enclosed
the kitchen. This helped open up the main living
area as well. The kitchen was totally gutted. All
new cabinets, island with bar and tile floor.
Bathroom. I can't even begin to
explain the transformation that
took place in the bathroom. I don't
think I'll even try.

Basement. Well let's just say it is
no longer scary!!! Bryan also added
a laundry closet.
After a wonderful worship service at church we spent the rest of Easter day at our Pastor's house. We had a huge lunch and then the kids had an Easter egg hunt in the basement. Why in the basement you might ask. Well we had crazy weather. It rained, snowed and hailed. Eventually the sun came out but is was still really cold
